Christmas greetings to all you Italian Prayer Warriors!

We've now been back in Italy three months and it seems like we were never gone! We praise the Lord for giving us this season of our lives to enjoy His multiplied blessings on our ministry.

Jonathan, Noah, and Grandma On Thanksgiving Day (a normal work day here in Italy), we were blessed to have three of our four children and their families at our home for an evening Thanksgiving dinner together. The next day (Friday) Jonathan, Melodee, and Noah left for a weekend of ministry in a Baptist Mid-Missions work in Spain. On Saturday Josh, Sara, Rebecca, Sammy, and Naomi, having finished up their Thanksgiving Dinner outreach in Bologna, arrived for a weekend with us.

Our Christmas season is well under way. On December 6th the ladies of Centro Evangelico Battista had a special international Christmas dinner outreach with about 40 women in attendance, several there for the first time. Rachel shared a devotional at the dinner.

On December 8th all of Italy stopped to celebrate the demonic doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, proclaimed by Pope Pius IX in the mid 1800's. It is incredible to see how a false doctrine, one that places Mary at the same level as her firstborn, our Savior, has become such a part of the fiber of Italian life that many who call themselves "Christians" actually believe it. This holiday officially begins the Christmas season in Italy, and probably all Catholic countries.

Sharing the preaching ministry with our Italian pastor Lucio has been a blessing. Since I have now more time and less sermon preparation, I have been able to concentrate on more discipleship and personal evangelism. It looks like the Lord will be opening up to us another couple of prison ministries in Spoleto and possibly Ancona, in addition to Orvieto and Perugia. Please pray for wisdom and co-laborers in this difficult but challenging venture. Please pray for me as I am preaching three Christmas messages from John 1:1-18 this month. We also are in the thick of our annual Scripture calendar distribution to TV and radio contacts, as well as to friends and acquaintances of the people in our church. We plan to give out about 2,000 of these calendars that give a gospel verse and explanation for each day. Pray that God would apply the Word to the hearts of those who read it.

Italian Christian History Tour The fourth (and probably last) Italian Christian History Tour will take place October 1-12, 2012. Rome, Pompeii, Assisi, Perugia, Florence, Pisa, the Waldensian Valleys, Trent, and Venice for $2,999 with departure from Philadelphia. (There is a possibility that connecting flights to Philadelphia may be included in this price; more info to come.)

Please contact us immediately for details if interested. Don't miss this opportunity to see our land, our work, our church, and our passion. Each family that participates will receive a free copy of my book, "HiStory in Italy".

Thanks so much for your faithful prayer and financial support in these difficult days. God's promises are still valid. One of them that we cling to is: "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19.

God bless.

Yours for Christ in Italy,

Fred and Rachel Whitman
